Frequently asked questions

Why choose image backup over file backup?

An image restores the whole machine u2014 OS, applications and state u2014 in one operation. File backup only returns data, leaving the rebuild to you.

Can we restore to different hardware?

Yes. Universal Restore injects the drivers needed to boot an image on dissimilar hardware or into a virtual machine.

Is endpoint coverage worth it?

Where staff hold working data locally, yes. Laptop loss and ransomware on endpoints are far more common than server failure.

Who holds the encryption keys?

You do. Backups are encrypted before leaving the device, and keys are documented in your own secret store u2014 losing them means losing the restore.
