Why choose an appliance over a software PBX?
When analog, BRI or PRI lines must terminate on site, when there is no virtualization estate to host a PBX, or when a vendor-supported firmware path is required.
How many concurrent calls can we run?
That is set by the model and licence, not by extension count. Sizing starts from measured peak concurrency plus headroom, then the model is chosen to match.
Can remote staff use it safely?
Yes u2014 through the encrypted remote client service or a VPN. The SIP port is never published directly to the internet.
